Do you want your children to learn one of the most spoken languages in the world?

Do you think learning Spanish is important in today’s world?

Do you fear that learning a new language will be cumbersome and boring?

  • In addition to learning the language, it’s important for your children to connect with the roots and culture.
  • If you are considering Spanish as a language that will open doors for your child, you will need classes that awaken the curiosity in them and desire to learn.
  • With classes full of fun and teacher-student interaction, this process will be an unforgettable experience for your child.

Hello!!

My name is Esther and I am the teacher behind this virtual school 🙂
Teaching has been what a passion of mine since childhood. Ten years ago I decided to make my passion my profession. I am an Early Childhood Education and Elementary teacher, as well as a Primary Montessori guide. I firmly believe in meaningful learning through the child’s real experiences and in a method of sensory teaching.
Another of my greatest passions is traveling and learning from other cultures. The combination of both is what has led me to create Growing in Spanish, a welcoming space in which children connect with Spanish and its culture.

LEARN SPANISH THROUGH

THE HANDS ON LEARNING METHODOLOGY

HOW DO WE TEACH?

In Growing in Spanish we teach through a methodology based on hands-on experience and the belief that children learn through their senses. The fact that children can touch and manipulate with their own hands what they are learning, makes that knowledge remain in the brain in the long term. When a child learns from real experiences, concepts are not forgotten. What better way than learning a language, around real situations, that will help them communicate in the real world for the rest of their lives?

We understand that the pace of learning of each child is different. That is why these classes are adapted to the different needs of each one.

HANDS ON LEARNING

We do believe that children need to touch their work with their own hands. They have to be able to manipulate what they are learning. Being part of their own process will develop the ability to retain the information easier while they enjoy what they're doing.

EXPERIENCE BEFORE LANGUAGE

It may seem controversial because what we want to learn is a language. But experiences are essential for a language to be established, especially with children and youth. Therefore, teaching Spanish using real experiences and the child’s context, is very important for an effective and interesting learning.

FRIENDLINESS WITH ERROR

We consider it essential to be understanding and accept that mistakes are necessary to learn. For that reason, we always try to create an environment of friendliness with error that will make the child feel in a safe space: we all make mistakes, they are part of our lives.

ADAPTATION

Every child and youth develop and learns at their own pace. These classes are designed to adapt to that pace of learning. The goals they want to achieve will be taken into account, but always respecting the process to reach them.

At Growing in Spanish we focus on children not only learning Spanish, but building the ability to use it outside of the class. All this in a fun and relaxed approach, while accepting that, during the process, mistakes are necessary.
